Last night at the CIPR PRide Awards Refresh was presented with a whooping six awards for campaigns with our clients The Boys’ Brigade, Polypipe Building Products, Ello, Etex, as well as PR Agency of the Year.
The awards recognised our ability to develop engaging content for a variety of channels and audiences, and the relationships we build both internally amongst the team and externally with our clients.
A particular highlight from the night and the epitome of a campaign that tears up the rule book to achieve lasting success was our campaign ‘A Question of Regs’ with Polypipe which won gold in two categories: Best Channel Delivery and Best Use of Content.
The judges said that they “liked how well this entry researched and understood the audience, using this insight in their channel strategy for an engaging approach.”
The campaign intended to educate installers on regulations by highlighting technical information in a digestible format. It saw us invite heating installer influencers to a boxing gym to test them on Part L regulations through a range of challenges, like eating a chilly!
The judges continued: “this entry scored well with the judges for its fun, engaging approach and the judges noted the research into the target audience which led to an excellent content strategy. Congratulations!”
Over the past year the team has worked across diverse but targeted campaigns that put our clients’ audience at the heart. But our creative ideas have not stopped at putting heating installers to the test! With The Boy’s Brigade we developed a multifaceted social campaign that shines a light on the activities young people aged 11-18 can get involved with and with Ello we led an entirely different campaign focusing on research that delved into consumer perceptions around loyalty. By challenging the status quo, we have seen real cut through across diverse audiences with all clients.
However, we could not have achieved these successes without our creative partner Eight Engines who supported us both with ideation and bringing to life videos that have helped us make our clients target audience the face of our campaigns.
The foundations of our success are a direct result of the relationships we’ve built, and this has been key with our clients too. So, it was a particularly special moment to be recognised for the long service award with our client Etex.
Melanie Davies, UK market manager and head of marcomms at Etex, said: “We’ve been working with Refresh as our retained PR/comms partner since the start of 2021. What started out as a PR-first relationship has evolved into Refresh supporting us with lots of elements of our marketing – from video and social, to event support, as well as the more traditional PR-focused activities such as media relations and generating us top tier press coverage.
“The team are a pleasure to work with and really take the time to understand our business and the briefs we give them. They’re also not afraid to think outside the box and come up with creative ideas that are a bit different from the norm and help to set us apart.”
The CIPR PRide Awards are one of the leading awards for the PR sector here in the North West, celebrating the incredible work delivered by PR professionals across the region.
The competition is always fierce, particularly in the North West where there are so many talented agencies and in-house PR teams. So, last night was a major source of celebration!
