" />Back in 2015, we started the Heating Installer Awards as a way to celebrate the amazing achievements of heating installers across the UK. It’s hard to believe, but it has already been two months since we celebrated the winners of the 2024 HIA – our ninth year! For those who couldn’t be there, or want to relive the excitement, let’s take a moment to look back at the unforgettable event at the NEC in Birmingham.
Kicking things off, Nick Irlam of Irlam UK in Bolton-le-Sands won the coveted title of National Heating Installer 2024. Having been recognised as a regional winner for the North West two years in a row, Nick scooped the top spot this year after impressing the judges with his professionalism, problem-solving, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Next up, we had the pleasure of congratulating Damon Blakemore of Blakemore Plumbing & Heating in Sheffield, as he took the Silver title, while Daniel Davies of Daniel Davies Plumbing & Heating Services in Lampeter received the Bronze award. Both competitors impressed the industry experts with their technical expertise, and customer-centric approach.
This year, the Most Sustainable Installer award, which honours those committed to reducing the environmental impact of their work, was presented to Damon Blakemore, who impressively took home two trophies. Industry experts commended Damon’s knowledge in delivering energy-efficient solutions for customers, focusing on helping them minimise utility bills and their carbon footprint.
Luke Neale claimed the highly esteemed Rising Star award, which recognises the apprentices in the UK installer community who are training and working hard to demonstrate real commitment and high standards in the profession. Luke wowed the judges with his dedication to problem-solving and the successful outcome delivered for the customer.
Last but by no means least, we crowned the HVAC Installer of the Year, which was a brand-new category for the 2024 awards. HVAC Installer of the Year award provides installers who have delivered a system to customers that not only heats, but also cools their homes, improving air quality and ventilation. All of Nick Irlam’s hard work and dedication paid off as he bagged another win, and claimed the National and HVAC title all in one afternoon!
Everyone working behind the scenes at HIA HQ were so impressed with the levels of skill and determination that this year’s candidates brought to the table, and it was a true pleasure to watch these legends claim their well-deserved trophies. Now heading into its 10th year, the Heating Installer Awards recognise the often-unsung superstars across the UK heating and plumbing industry who deliver an exceptional quality of work and demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction.
