Yesterday, we were invited as a guest of InstallerShow to the Construction Products Association’s (CPA) Spring lunch to network with some of the biggest and best in the built environment sector.
The CPA represents and champions construction product manufacturers and suppliers. And with so many of our clients fitting into this category, we’ve always been big advocates of the work it does.
The Spring lunch, held in the beautiful ballroom of the Hilton Park Lane, was a day of good food and interesting conversations around the table.
The incoming Chair of the CPA gave us a rousing speech – a callout to the construction industry that a cultural shift is needed to tackle multiple challenges (and indeed opportunities) facing the sector.
Ultimately, the focus here was on creating safer buildings for everyone, which reflected most of the other conversations I had with industry peers throughout the day. With multiple legislations around building safety either already in force or due to come in over the coming months and years, this will likely be the core topic of discussion for years to come.
Other speeches throughout the day drew us to recognise the resilience of the building products sector over the past four years – with factors from COVID, to materials shortages and other macro-factors impacting the course of the sector.
One thing’s for sure – as the sector expects to start recovering over the coming years, there are myriad opportunities for building product manufacturers who have solid strategies in place around building safety and sustainability.
Thanks to our friends over at InstallerShow for inviting us – we look forward to attending the show 25th-27th June. If you’re heading down to the NEC for it, give us a shout.
